Welcome
The purpose of this website is to
offer the suggestion, the possibility
- for both personal reflection and
open dialogue - that the mainline
Christian Church as we know and
understand it to be today, has lived
out its life, in many ways like we do
- with joys, challenges, regrets,
horrible mistakes, and triumphs…
but is now heading toward the end
of its life cycle. It may be our
greatest gift to the current church
expression, not to constantly
attempt to rescue it from what
seems to its enemies to be an
"inevitable demise," but to allow it -
even teach it - to die honorably,
beautifully, faithfully …with
dignity and integrity.
The Church is dying.
We all see it, and we all
are experiencing it.
Many are working to
try to reverse the
otherwise inevitable trend, while
others blame it on the church's sin
and waywardness. While that
might be behind some of this
phenomenon, it doesn't explain it
fully. And while working against
it may be the answer for some
congregations, it isn't for most.
Instead of asking, "How can we
keep the Church from dying?" -
the bigger question we should be
proffering is, "SHOULD we keep it
from dying?"
This website is under
construction.
We look forward to your return
as we add pages
